The Asia-Pacific Center for Water Security (APCWS), Tsinghua University is seeking for a full-time Research Assistant based in Beijing, China.
The Asia-Pacific Center for Water Security (APCWS) was established by Tsinghua University in April 2010 in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and with support from the Ministry of Finance of China. APCWS endeavors to promote advanced research, knowledge sharing, and smart decision making in relation to water security issues in the Asia-Pacific region. APCWS is currently based in School of Environment (SOE) of Tsinghua University. Except for full-time staff, professors of SOE are supporting the center’s research progress. APCWS is expanding its connections to the outside world and building up its network for collaborations to fulfil its missions.
Responsibilities:
· Able to work independently or collaboratively with the center’s researchers to develop projects according to the Center’s strategic goals;
· Responsible for research work on Asian Water Development Outlook 2016 (AWDO 2016) and regular progress reports to ADB;
· Responsible for drafting research reports and project proposals as required;
· Responsible for communicating with the center’s partner and cooperative organizations;
· Responsible for updating the APCWS website and managing the online database;
· Assist in organizing conferences and other events when required;
· Report to Director/Coordinator of APCWS.
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred;
· Fluency in English, with strong oral and written skills;
· proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and web-based communication tools (e.g. Skype);
· Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks;
· Care for details, accuracy and high quality output.
